Who:

Teens with ADHD, Ages 15-19. This group is open to both existing Hallowell Todaro clients and new clients.

Cost:

$250 for 4 sessions, which includes an individual pre-group session

Why Expressive Art Therapy for Teens with ADHD? 

Expressive art therapy offers a creative and supportive outlet for teens with ADHD to explore and express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences through various art forms. Through painting, drawing, crafting, and other artistic activities, teens can tap into their inner creativity to better understand and cope with their ADHD symptoms. This therapeutic approach allows teens to express themselves creatively, providing a safe space for self-discovery, emotional release, and personal growth.

Jessica Gutierrez, LMFT

About Jessica

Jessica Gutierrez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an ADHD Certified Clinical Service Provider. She has extensive experience gained from years of offering psychotherapy and executive function coaching using evidence-based practices. Her passion is to offer comprehensive intake assessments and care plans for individual clients and families. Jessica's ability to incorporate different therapeutic principles and philosophies has helped her tailor her services to meet the specific needs of her clients. She aims to establish an empathic and encouraging environment that supports her client’s self-expression, help them enhance their self-awareness, facilitates change, and allows them to live the life they truly desire.

Jessica grew up in the Bay Area, where she attended college. She has her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration on Children, Marriage, and Family Therapy from Palo Alto University; and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy with a Minor in Psychology from San Jose State University. She is also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional.

Jessica's sessions aims to teach clients how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with distress, regulate emotions, improve relationships with others, and overall strengthen executive function skills. She helps her clients understand the nature of their challenges, find lasting solutions, and adopt effective coping mechanisms. She has worked with a broad range of clients, including adolescents, college students, adults, and families in different settings; schools, community mental health agencies, private practice settings, and inpatient facilities. In addition to supporting individuals struggling with ADHD, she has experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, LGBTQ+, learning differences, self-esteem struggles, relationship concerns, and work and academic-related stressors.

Jessica’s theoretical approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Informed Treatment, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Strength-based, and Solution Focused techniques. She applies her extensive knowledge, unique skills, and experience to provide coaching and counseling to help clients live authentic, fulfilling, and productive lives.

Jessica’s interests include reading educational, non-fiction books and watching documentaries, standup comedies, and T.V. show. She loves meditation, yoga, hikes, puzzles, and dancing to help her regain her vitality. During her free time, you will find her spending time with her family and friends and engaging in outdoor activities.
